Crawfords Camp
Whitefish Bay on Lake of the Woods, Sioux Narrows, Ontario
1.888.COM.FISH (266.3474)
www.crawfordscamp.com
Towards the end of April, we generally have “ice out” and it’s time for some shallow water lake trout fishing. The big ones are up and it’s time for casting and trolling. We generally have cottages open for “ice out” to accommodate those fishermen that come up and get rid of winter cabin fever!
As the bays warm up you’ll find the Largemouth, Smallmouth and the Crappies moving in and hanging around last year’s weeds. By the first of June, Bass are hitting heavy and we are seeing many Smallmouth in the 3 – 4lbs + range now. To try and maintain our bass population, we do request that you stick to “catch and release” during the spawning season!
Walleye season opens up on the third Saturday in May and that is traditionally the “opening of fishing season.” During the course of the summer the Walleye move from one area to another, but by utilizing knowledge of their habits from previous years, we are able to stay on top of them.
Muskie season opens the third Saturday in June and this is just after the end of their yearly spawning ritual.
We realize that your vacation is something that you look forward to all year and we are here to help you make that experience a memorable one. We do not just try to get you booked in and then drop you. You are not turned over to a manager; you are dealing with the owners!! We will take the time upon your arrival to go over working techniques and locations on the lake so you will not have to waste any of your vacation not catching fish.

Northern Walleye lodge
Dog Lake – Missanabie, Ontario
1.877.434.2440
www.campmissanabie.com
Dog Lake is one of Ontario's best-kept Walleye secrets. It's far enough south for a long growing season producing big Walleyes but still located in a very remote region of Northern Ontario.
As a result, Walleye fishing pressure is low and the population of Walleye is high. Dog Lake is fed fresh water and nutrients from the Lochalsh River and the Dog River. Dog Lake is the headwaters for the Michipicoten River, which is also famous for Walleye fishing. The Walleyes have lots of highly oxygenated water and food along with classic Canadian Shield structure, which is the environment they flourish in. The rivers also provide outstanding spawning grounds. Combining these factors has produced one of Ontario's top Walleye Lakes.
Walleye are common in the 1 to 3-pound range, which is 14 to 19 inches. During an average day of Walleye fishing you should catch 30 to 60 Walleyes depending on how hard you fish and how well you know the lake.

1.888.466.2531
www.greenwildernesslodge.com
Green Wilderness Lodge is lucky to be on beautiful Lake Mattagami, which is just stuffed with hard fighting and delicious Walleyes. We are one of those lucky lodges that can make the claim of catching Walleye right off the dock.
Lake Mattagami has perfect structure for a high Walleye population with many rocky points, drop-offs, islands and shoals. The river that runs into the lake provides the Walleyes with perfect spawning conditions thus; the Walleye population stays high.
The Walleye in our lake average about 15 inches but large trophy Walleye up to the 15-pound mark have been caught and released. If you love to catch and eat Walleye, then Green Wilderness Lodge is where you want to spend your vacation.
Generally, most of the best Walleye fishing is close to shore. Our guests catch them using jigs or trolling with small minnow-like stick baits. Rubber Twistertails are not as effective in our lake as other lakes. Our guest have better luck using a jig with a worm or a minnow, which we have a large supply of at the camp.

Our remote family owned and operated resort has the atmosphere of home. This resort was established in the 1920’s. We are the fifth owners and have been here since 1990. Starting in 1996 we began a process of tearing down the old and replacing it with new.
We have eight cabins to rental. All are fully housekeeping although we do have a dining room and offer meal plans to those you just want to relax and do no cooking themselves. Along with all our cabins being rebuilt, we built a new fish cleaning house and dock store in 2006.
Our docks and pier are always being upgraded. In 2006 we extended our pier which made it much larger. We now have an 8-seater hot tub and new lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas on the new pier overlooking the lake for your comfort. It is very important to us to make your trip here everything you want it to be.
We offer 8 cabins to rent in Ontario on Lake of the Woods. You can plan a Canadian fishing trip unsurpassed by any other at Indianhead Lodge. The lake spans scenic 65,000 miles of shoreline and creates adventures to please everyone. It has over 14,000 islands which invites the most breathtaking scenery. Fishing in Canada on Lake of the Woods is a highly satisfying experience for those looking to land a trophy walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, Muskie, lake trout, crappie, perch or whitefish. This lake also offers experiences for sailing, cruising, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or any water sport you can think of. All the islands are an excellent place for the adventurous people who like to explore. Where else can you have it all?
